Am I a BOTOX® Candidate? In general, anyone who wishes to minimize or even possible eliminate the presence of “expression wrinkles” between their eyebrows, across their forehead or at the outer corners of their eyes may be good candidates for BOTOX® Cosmetic. Expression wrinkles are those wrinkles that form as you move the muscles on your face and “pull’ the overlying skin. It is important to have realistic expectations. BOTOX® Cosmetic is not appropriate for those wishing to eliminate “fixed” wrinkles, such as those caused by actinic or sun damage. People wishing to have BOTOX® Cosmetic should be in good general health. They should be free of any known sensitivity to BOTOX® or any components of its formulation. Further, people wishing to have BOTOX® Injections should not have any signs of infection in the areas to be injected. Last, they should be free of neuromuscular diseases such as Myasthenia Gravis, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis or Lambert-Eaton Syndrome as these conditions may predispose patients to undesirable side effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic.
