BOTOX® Injection ProcessThe BOTOX® Injection procedure actually begins as you arrive at your doctor’s office. If this is your first visit to the office, then please allow time so that you can carefully fill out all of the required forms. You will then spend time with the physician or a staff member reviewing your health and medical history as well as identifying areas of concern and your specific expectations for the BOTOX® treatment. The physician or staff member should take the time necessary to answer your questions and review the risks of the treatment.
The doctor will ask you to make a number of different expressions with your face and eyebrows in order to locate those muscles most active and affecting the formation of wrinkles. Your doctor will determine where to administer the injections by examining your ability to move certain muscles in your brow area. The location, size, and use of the muscles that create a furrowed brow vary markedly among individuals. The injection of BOTOX® Cosmetic actually only takes about 10 minutes and requires no recovery. As it requires no downtime, you can schedule your visit for lunchtime and easily return to work. No anesthesia is required, although your doctor may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. In most cases, you will be in and out of the doctor’s office in a short time and will not need to have any recovery or downtime. You can return to your regular activities immediately. Typically you will begin to see the effects within a few days with improvement continuing up to a month and the overall effect lasting up to 4 months. Read About Some Side Effect From BOTOX® >
